Cheng Daoyuan:

Cheng Daoyuan is a Taipei-based multi-media creator whose works spans experimental sound, installation, and visual creation.
At the core of Cheng’s art is the convergence of two distinct planes into a coherent form, striving to immerse himself in the here and now, while simultaneously, and paradoxically, seeking to exile himself in this non-existent time and space : where the true equates to the false, where to exist means to be extinguished.

Khronoform503 is a vessel of foreboding dread hailing from the seedy streets of Singapore. Coming from a myriad of bands from the punk/underground scene there, this solo act was made as an ode to the Death Industrial genre and emanates aural frequencies from the centre of his personal vortex; and the aggressive variety and enormity of the textures which swirl about and confront are unified by the volatile character of a relativistic surrounding.

Perfect complement to the Mystery LP from earlier in the year. Heavier emphasis on the dreamlike ambient moods than the Sun Araw-esque loping bass/drum grooves of the LP, but still very reminiscent of those heady mid-late '00s Not Not Fun days while also really ramping up the PC-98 RPG soundtrack vibes.
